- Motion to begin: Marisa, 2nd: Allison
- Not all members had seen the training video, so Marisa explained how to watch it.
- We reviewed the Rules of Order and Procedure - all members agreed on it.
- Reviewed the dates for the upcoming Community Council Meetings:
- September 16, 2024
- Hold First Meeting,
- School Community Council Information (YouTube)
- Assign review of required website information and Rules of Order & Procedure
- Elect a Chair and Vice-Chair
- October 28th, 2024
- Review the current School LAND Trust Plan and Teacher and Student Success Act Plan (TSSA)
- we do not do school-specific TSSA plans in our district, but have chosen to allocate all of our funds to either teacher compensation or instructional coaches
- Nov/Dec- November 18th, 2024
- Discuss School Safety, Digital Citizenship Reports, and the Positive Behavior Plan (as needed)
- Jan/ Feb- January 17th, 2025 (and February 24th)
- Review the year-to-date budget and submit a Plan Amendment for approval (as needed)
- Plan Amendment Approval Process(YouTube)
- Discuss academic data in relation to the current School LAND Trust Plan
- Determine the academic needs to be addressed in the upcoming school year
- Academic Needs and Unallowable Expenses Resource (Google Doc)
- Make recommendations to the principal about the Teacher and Student Success Act Plan (TSSA)
- Feb/March: March 17th, 2025
- Prepare and approve the School LAND Trust Plan (by District due date)
- Sign the Council Assurance (signature page) at the meeting where the plan is approved
- April/May- April 21st, 2025
- Report on the Current School Plan implementation and budget
- Celebrate student and school-year successes

- Marisa talked about the visit from another district this morning. The visitors loved what our school is implementing and were very impressed with all of the teachers that they observed.
- Maddi reported about the Springville Museum Outreach program on September 13th. The presenters did a great job and the students loved learning more about artwork and learning drawing skills.
- Marisa discussed USU students who will come to our school to teach an art lesson in October to teachers who request it.
- Arts Access partnership- Beverley Taylor Sorenson (Oct)- link - We are planning a school-wide art project for all students to participate in during STEM.
- 3:15- Annette Farley- School Operations Specialist - Moved to the November meeting
- Reviewed upcoming important dates:
- Sept 17- Picture Day
- Acadience Testing is happening
- Oct 4- No school
- Oct 16-18- Fall Break
- Oct 25- ½ Day
