Safety Update- Isabelle Obray and Marisa

• Isabell and Marisa went to a meeting with people in the city to hear the results from their study. The results showed the following:

  • We did warrant school crosswalks, so those will be updated soon

  • They will also provide flags for students to use when crossing

  • Adult crossing guards are optional, but not warranted, so the city will not pay for it

  • We did not qualify for a school zone (i.e. sign with the flashing lights to signal 20 mph speed limit)

  • They said we can have someone be a crossing guard, the course is optional

  • The plan is to train one of our aides to be a crossing guard for the intersection on 500 N & 400 E

New Land Trust Rules

• Briefly talked about the new rules, Marisa will send them to the council so we can review them more fully, if desired

November 10- School Board meeting will be at Adams

• Frank discussed what schools usually present at their meeting:

• 30 minutes of celebrating things at Adams

  • Student Council presents with a Q&A afterwards

  • PTA

  • Community Council

    • Safety — crossing guards

    • Land Trust progress

Review the current School LAND Trust Plan and Teacher and Student Success Act Plan (TSSA) we do not do school-specific TSSA plans in our district, but have chosen to allocate all of our funds to either teacher compensation or instructional coaches

Tomorrow’s SLC meeting

• Marisa will represent Utah Public school to meet with the US Secretary of Education

• She will present about Early Literacy

*Notes: Marisa will send the Safety Report and New Land Trust Rules to the council and update the School Land Trust information on our school website.
