Just so everyone is aware, we had to move around a few things on our April/May calendar. The cheer and soccer competition has been moved to APRIL 26. Because of this, we also moved our guest speaker (Just Jumpin) to MAY 10. Thank you!
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came to our parent night last Thursday. We really appreciate all the support we get from the parents. Those who came got to participate in STEAM activities, including: making homemade ice cream (science), dice games (math), a readers theater(art), building with Popsicle sticks(engineering), and a human coding activity(technology). We hope that these activities helped give you some ideas on how to apply STEAM based activities in your own home and encourage you to do so. Thanks again for your support!
On Tuesday, March 26th, kindergarten and first grade got to go on a field trip to the fire station. They got to see what a firefighter’s job is like and look inside an ambulance and fire truck! They also were able to see the different tools and gear the firefighters use. They had so much fun! Here are some pictures from the field trip.
Just a reminder that we have our Parent Night tomorrow from 5:30-6:30. Please come to enjoy some STEAM activities with your children. We look forward to it!
On Monday, we had some guest speakers from the golf course come to teach our 4th and 5th graders the fundamental principles of golf. They then discussed how these principles apply to real life. These principles include: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgement. The guest speakers also taught the students how to hold a golf club and they had fun practicing their swing.
Today the students had the opportunity to tie blankets that will be donated to the hospital. They also drew pictures and wrote notes for those in the hospital. The students had a lot of fun doing this. Adams Owls love to serve others!
We are so excited for our Lights On event coming February 21st! Over the past few weeks, Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade have had the opportunity to work with artcore, a group of art students from USU. Artcore has helped them do different group art projects that will be put on display at the Lights On event. The children really enjoyed participating. Here are some pictures of Kindergarten sand painting!
This past Thursday, after school club went to the Fun Park for our end of the session field trip. The students were so excited! We were fortunate enough to be able to rent out the entire fun center, so the students were able to enjoy laser tag, billiards, bowling, soft play, and roller skating. Some students learned how to skate for the first time, and were pro by the end! It was a successful field trip and we have enjoyed having all of your children in after school club!
The students who chose art club were able to learn all about art and practice drawing and paining. In these pictures, they were practicing drawing step by step. They also learned about and practiced shading. Their drawings turned out awesome!
Registration for session 2 is open now until December 14th. We hope you choose to come back!
The students are having a lot of fun with the October Clubs. Last week, in the circus club the students got to play with a giant parachute outside. They practiced math as well as coordination skills while trying to keep the dodge-balls on the parachute. It was lots of fun!
Today the third graders went on a field trip to Utah State University. We walked from our school, then went on a mini tour of campus. The teacher made a questionnaire where we got to answer questions about the university and think about what we want to do when we grow up. When we were walking around, we saw different statues and buildings. We even got to go inside the TSC and see what it is like. It was fun seeing campus and what college is like. Here are some pictures:
